We provide compassionate care & individualized support to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) by fostering community integration, dignity, and self-satisfaction that should occur throughout life.

CEO

Michael Cruse

Michael Cruse, CEO of AFCS has over 25 years of experience in case management, and direct support of Individuals with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities. He also has extensive experience with youth truancy, justice involved community re-engagement support, alcohol and drug counseling, special needs counseling, leadership and group facilitation skills. Michael also has extensive experience in mediation and conflict resolution, community outreach and assessment.

Michael has a master’s degree in criminal justice from Point Park University and a Bachelor’s of Science in Liberal Studies from Portland State University.

Chief Administrator

Dr. Michele Cruse

Dr. Michele Cruse, Chief Administrator of AFCS has over 18 years of extensive experience in providing support and resources to underserved individuals, which include Individuals with Intellectual and physical disabilities. Dr. Cruse also has extensive experience in program development, education administration, instruction, housing, community engagement, and finance.

Dr. Cruse has a PhD in Adult Education from Oregon State University, and a Masters and Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from Portland State University and the University of Pittsburgh, respectively.

  • • Provide training, support, and assistance to individuals in the areas of personal care, recreation and leisure, daily living skills, social skills, basic health needs, personal preferences, and community integration and engagement.

    • Participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of each individual's service plan.

    • Transport and accompany clients to appointments and activities in the community 

    • Ensure individuals health and safety, ability to perform CPR, and Standard First Aid.

    • Prepare individuals meals subject to their dietary needs.

Pay $18.00 - $20.00/hour

Part Time & Full Time Availability
